To clear up any questions that might occur regarding this, I have posted this thread in advance.
There are three staff positions on the site: Administrator , Moderator, and Editor. The following is a brief explanation of each position and their available/expected duties.
Site Assistant a.k.a Editors: These individuals can moderate only one board on the forums. They are in charge of making sure all rules are being followed in the board that they moderate. They can bump threads, sticky threads, move threads, modify threads, lock threads, reply to locked threads, lock forum polls, and view poll voters.
Moderator: These individuals moderate all boards. They can warn, delete, and ban member accounts. They can sticky, lock, move, delete, and modify threads, posts, and polls. They can view user IP addresses, see invisible users, and birthdays, and they can modify calendar entries.
Administrator: Administrators have all of the powers of the Global Moderators, however, they can edit boards and board categories. They can also edit member titles, ranks, and so on and so forth. More or less, they have access to all site areas, administration options, and member permissions.
Becoming a Staff Member:
Any requests to be placed as a staff member will be ignored, and you will be barred from ever being promoted to a staff position.
To become a member of the site staff, you need to first be promoted to a Site Assistant. To become a site assistant you must first prove that you are capable of holding such a position. You must be active within the forums and shoutbox, show that you are trustworthy and responsible, and show that you are knowledgeable enough to provide assistance and information to your fellow members. Now then, if you meet all of those qualifications, a moderator might vote for you to be promoted to a staff member. If you receive four other votes from the moderation team (this would mean you need a total of five votes in your favor), you will be bumped up to moderator. You will be put on a probationary period (between 2-4 weeks). If the staff feels that you are doing your job well, they will keep you as a fellow staff member. Otherwise, you will be bumped back down to your regular status.
That being said, other moderates and the site administrator(s) can veto the vote for your promotion. If this occurs, you will not be promoted.
Global Moderators are chosen by the site Administrator(s) only.
Site Assistant:
Assistants are individuals that help the site staff keep the forums tidy. They can move delete and edit threads in a designated area of the forum. These individuals are chosen by the site administrator and moderators. A vote is taken and then the individual is promoted to this position. These individuals are not staff members themselves, they simply work alongside the moderation team to keep the forums in proper working order.
